Portrait of Carolin Lehmann

Carolin Lehmann has been a member of the Everyday Media lab since 2023. She is interested in how groups of friends who live in different places stay connected. In the BMBF project “VREUNDE”, smart objects are being developed that enrich communication between friends. For her dissertation, she is looking at the use of group chats among friends and investigating the question of whether these group chats can trigger FOMO (fear of missing out).

Main research topics

  • Long-distance communication among groups of friends
  • Group chats
