Dr. Lara Ditrich, researcher in the IWM’s Social Processes lab, was selected for the Margarete von Wrangell Programme. The programme is considered one of the most competitive funding schemes for excellent female junior researchers in Germany and aims to support women on their path to a professorship.

Baden-Württemberg's universities submitted 68 applications, only ten of which made it to the final round. The fellowship provides Lara Ditrich with a five-year permanent employment and offers all fellows a platform for scientific exchange, such as at the Nobel Laureate Meeting, where they are given the opportunity to meet the world’s brightest minds.

As part of her habilitation, Lara Ditrich will investigate the role emotions play for collective action, for example, protest participation.
