Project
Commissioned by the 16 federal states and funded through the DigitalPakt Schule, an AI-supported digital teaching and learning environment for students and teachers has been under development since early 2026. It is designed to support individualized learning and facilitate lesson preparation. The software company Assecor and the nonprofit organization “KI macht Schule” are leading the implementation of the overall Adaptive Intelligent System (AIS) project. The development of the AIS is coordinated by the FWU (Media Institute of the Federal States).
The IWM team serves as an intermediary in the project: It is establishing a virtual space for dialogue and feedback ("Resonanzraum") that connects research, school practice, and technology development, and supports the development of the AIS by addressing fundamental questions. The IWM also provides scientific expertise by conducting a study on learning analytics in school education.
In the “Resonanzraum” fundamental questions about AI-supported, adaptive design of school learning pathways are raised and answered by experts from the fields of research, practice, and technology development. Through various formats, the forum explores, for example, the conditions for the acceptance of tutoring systems in a school context and discusses pedagogical and didactic requirements for designing adaptive learning pathways within the context of educational policy and organizational frameworks.
