How can science and school practice be brought together?
LEARNTEC, Europe's largest event for digital education, took place in Karlsruhe from May 6 to May 8. On the IWM side, Dr Georg Pardi from the Multimodal Interaction lab and Dr Irina Brich, Maren Gebhardt, Dr Anne Thillosen and Tamara Schilling from the e-teaching-Transfer lab were on site. As part of the ‘school@LEARNTEC’ sessions, they presented the various areas of the IWM that bring science and school practice together.
Under the title ‘Future technologies in schools - what science contributes’, Georg Pardi first presented the IWM's Future Innovation Space (in German), in which research-based innovations for the digital lessons of the future are tested, developed and researched together with teachers.
Building on this, Florian Nuxoll from the University of Tübingen reported on AI-based support in school practice and how studies can help to improve learning. The session concluded with a presentation by Anne Thillosen and Tamara Schilling on how (knowledge) exchange between science and school practice is being organised with the new IWM portal schule-mal- digital.de (in German).
