A Space of Resonance for the Adaptive Learning Platform

In 2026, the AIS (Adaptive Intelligent System) project was launched with the aim of making AI-supported forms of adaptive learning available for use in schools. The aim is to create a digital teaching and learning environment that provides more personalised support for pupils and reduces the workload for teachers. The IWM is taking on an interface role with its scientific expertise: It establishes a virtual space for dialogue and feedback to support the development of the AIS and to gather feedback from the academic community and from users, such as parents, teachers and pupils.

The software company Assecor and the non-profit organisation ‘KI macht Schule’ are in charge of managing the overall project. Together with other partners from the fields of research, education and subject didactics, the aim is to create a platform that brings together educational requirements, scientific findings and technological possibilities.

Practical and evidence-based: the AIS approach

The virtual space for dialogue and feedback is designed to bring together the various players and systematically capture their perspectives. Among other things, this will help identify potential uses and obstacles, as well as the conditions for acceptance within the school context and the educational policy and organisational framework.

To achieve this, the IWM relies on systematic surveys, structured needs assessments, moderated dialogues between researchers and users, and discussion forums with subject experts.

AIS represents an approach that consistently links scientific evidence with educational requirements. Through its work, the IWM helps to ensure that adaptive learning technologies are well-founded, practical and sustainable.
